About this place
When you want both the depth of pork-bone broth and the clean, savoury edge of soy sauce, Iekei ramen is a satisfying choice. At Yokohamaiekei Ramen Menya Fukumasu Shin-Koenji-ten, the rich broth has a pronounced pork flavour, balanced by soy sauce. Reviews mention its thick, smooth texture and the way the broth’s richness is offset by the soy’s sharper notes. The medium-thick noodles are said to pair well with the soup, with some diners also noting their springy bite. The basic ramen (900 yen) is a good way to enjoy the combination of noodles and broth.
Rice cooked in a pot (100 yen) is a natural accompaniment. Diners have commented on its sweetness and the flavour of the rice, which goes particularly well with the rich broth. Another way to enjoy it is to wrap rice in nori dipped in the soup. Extra nori costs 100 yen, while toppings such as seasoned egg, onion and cabbage are 100 yen each. For a bowl with a generous selection of toppings, there is the special ramen (1,200 yen); the spicy umakara ramen (1,000 yen) is another option.
Dine-in service is available, and reports mention both counter and table seating. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner and is closed on Sundays. On Wednesdays, it opens from 18; on other operating days, it serves during the daytime and again from 18, with evening service continuing until 3 the following day.
